There are concerns that the Government's latest proposed changes to the early childhood sector could drive up the cost of childcare.
The Government's proposed a range of changes to the sector, including a requirement for all in-home educators to have a tertiary qualification - at least a Level 4 certificate.
Paua managing director Raewyn Overton-Stuart told Mike Hosking more highly qualified educators are more expensive and parents may not be able to afford the special care.
"The reality is that most of the parents, this is an option that they can use to keep their children in a smaller ratio."
