Rakya Ali, also known by her artist name “Kya ImanI” is 23 years old, grew up on the south side of Chicago. She has always had a love and passion for music. She was in her school Choir growing up before she ever thought about really taking music seriously. Throughout her high school career, she was playing tennis at a professional level. She made the varsity team as a freshman and made it to state in 2017. She loved tennis, by time she got to College she got a scholarship, but then that’s when she decided she would just pursue her acting and music career and would no longer continue tennis. She first started out doing small roles in tv shows and movies at a young age when she was 15 and got signed to her first agency BMG. She was playing around in the studio one day with friends, and people actually liked the music and kept telling her she should really take it seriously. Then she put out her first single “Don’t call my Phone” in 2019, and she got a really good response and love from the single. So she decided she would take things to the next level with her music. She now has music out everywhere and is doing bigger shows. People always notice me from being on the show called “The Chi”. And she also has a new business venture out, She has a brand called Imani Dolls. An online women’s boutique and her EP will soon be available everywhere. She plans on going mainstream with her music and getting a great deal with consistency and hard work.
