Julian Stockwins Thomas Kydd series, they are written in the same era and similar situational placing, Hornblower characters, which I like.

What does Steven Crossley bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?

He has reasonable characterisation and good narration inflections for the different situations almost on a parr with Christian Rodska and that is a compliment.
