He says instead they need to just rank and seed the top 12 teams strictly by merit. His rationale is that the current format puts the No. 1 seed at a disadvantage, because the No. 5 seed is likely to be a top 2 team that might have lost a conference championship game or a team like Notre Dame that’s more deserving of a higher seed but lands at No. 5 because of the current system. * Next week for the Cowboys – Bengals Monday Night Football game, ESPN is going to have an alternate broadcast they’re calling The Simpsons Funday Football. Basically each Bengals and Cowboys player will appear on the screen as a motion-enabled, animated player. Atoms Stadium in Springfield will host the fully immersive fan viewing experience. It’ll be televised on Disney+, ESPN+ and on mobile with NFL+. The regular broadcast will still be on ESPN and ABC. What do you think?
