Bronx native, Esjae has inspired many by his tenacious drive to change the narrative of the current state of black music.

 Not conforming to a mold, he refuses to be boxed into the common trope of only singing r & b songs as an African-American performer. 

He has performed alongside artists such as Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, and legendary LaBelle singer Nona Hendryx as a supporting vocalist.
