Yup it’s that time again, where I resurrect the once thought lost Everything and the Kitchen Sink shows. In case you’re new to these shows; I have been doing EatKS since October 2011 (with some breaks in between). I have to say it’s pretty interesting to go back and listen to my old shows and hear a very quiet and reserved Nikki. I know RIGHT?

I will tell you, to talk into a microphone, and play the music you like, to an audience you can’t see ,has to be one of the most nerve racking, put yourself out there situations. I am not a tech savvy person so you can imagine running two computers to do a live show and pulling it off; is somewhat of a miracle.

Now, after years of doing shows, I don’t care, I play what I want, I ain’t worried about my numbers or how people view the show. I won’t be able to please everyone and now I can be myself! It helps I am not doing live shows where I had to worry about waking up a toddler as well.

Kudos to the dj’s in the club that spin and make it look effortless. Kudos to the radio folk that always have to put on a fuckin smile no matter what is going on in their life to entertain you, the listener. If you haven’t said thank you to your podcaster, radio host, musician, entertainer… etc. go and do it.

This show originally aired back July 19th 2012. This was back when I was crazy enough to do 2 to 3 hours of live shows -sometimes weekly. I am not sure how I had the energy to or time to do live shows and raise a toddler, work, and go to school.

As always the “unsigned” bands will be linked via the playlist as well as the “Bands Featured on EatKS” as for the other bands… if you don’t know the names lucky for you I have that cool band list, eh?

If you are wondering if the regular brand of EatKS nonsense is coming back, it will, it will. But until then, enjoy the installments of the Renos and Demos.

Much love to you all,

Nikki Is EatKS
