Our theme for the April Story Slam was “Respect!” We heard so many great stories this night. We also  ended up in a three-way tie - and that didn’t include a high scoring story from a storyteller who already won this season. What does this mean? You are the  winner, because we’re sharing all four stories in this month’s podcast.

We had to pull the judges to the side of the stage and determine the night’s winner, and in a very close call, the win was awarded to Aaron Spangler. Aaron told this story of taking a trip to Ireland as a teen.

Our second story is from John Strogus. John told this beautiful story of the respect he has for a tutor that helped him in a difficult time.

Our third story is from a first time storyteller at our Story Slam. David Lasky told this tale from a sailing trip he once took.

We just had to let you hear one more story, this one from Beth Horenkamp. Beth has already earned her slot in our Grand Slam but she returned and told this stellar story about having respect for the enormity of her job.
