Genesis tells us that when God created us as male and female, it was because “It is not good for the man to be alone.” When God says it is not good for man to be alone, he is saying that man as God intended man to be is good when there is togetherness. As God’s image bearers to the world, when men and women do life together we carry the fullness of the image of God among us. But through the curse, the distinctions meant to complement one another became dividing points to crush each other with. In the curse conflict and confusion between men and women became much more common than companionship and community. Only until God became flesh could we truly understand what relationship between one another should look like. Reversing the curse between men and women begins by looking to the example of Jesus as man as God fully intended man to be.
