Reviewing The Name of the Wind Pt. 2 with Sara Falk

Listen Later

Join us as we continue our review of the fantasy novel "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss, published in 2007. We continue our discussion on characters, talking about how female characters are incorporated into the story, masculinity, and best friends. We also start talking about plot, introduce the category of Setting & World Building, and much more!

Pre-Review: Prefacing the book and summarizing the story.

Part 1: Discussing character

Part 2: Character, Plot, and World Building

Editor’s note:

Minute 9:15-9:30 – To clarify on my comment: I do not appreciate that women don’t have a lot of options in this setting, however I appreciate that Rothfuss addressed the reality of the options for women in this type of society.
