Happy New Year, my friends and fellow travelers! So here we are, in 2014. Pretty amazing! Almost unbelievable. Yes, 2014. Wow. Where did 2013 go? And how did we get here so quickly? In my case, mostly by paths unexpected -- some crooked and some worn, others oddly familiar but still surprising, and yet others according to plan, but with new twists. In most cases, there were – and still are – many lessons to be learned. And I'd like to think that any mistakes I made last year were just stepping stones to new wisdom and enlightenment I plan to take advantage of this year. Yes, that's it!And so I woke up this morning with a deep sense of gratitude and a new feeling of anticipation – that kind of anticipation that's like a hopeful excitement, simmering on the edge of good things to come. What will 2014 bring? And more importantly, what will I bring to 2014?Well, 2014 is shaping up to be a big year on a lot of levels. Some of my projects that have been cooking for a long time will finally see the light of day this year. A few long-nurtured top secret projects are gaining some traction, and even 95ers, that feature-length sci-fi film I helped create, will be released in the UK and US in the next few months! Yes! And then of course, there's the next thrilling phase of FETIDUS, which has been cooking like a fine stew for a long time, soaking in a savory broth of rich spices and undead post-apocalyptic awesomeness. Great stuff ahead, folks! And more on my specific fiendish plans for FETIDUS in the weeks ahead...On the more personal side of life, I'm also so enthusiastic about a huge choice my wife and I made last year to homeschool our son. It's been one of the most rewarding choices we've ever made. I look forward with eager excitement each day to the one-on-one time I have with my son, and I can't wait to see what we explore in the coming months. I'll even be firing up my live music performance skills with him... how much fun is that? Er-hem, it's all academic, of course... a strict regimen of music instruction. (The cool music jam sessions are just a bonus.)2014 is here folks. And it looks good. Of course there's no predicting for sure what 2014 may bring, but I'm looking forward to close a few exciting chapters and open a few more. And that means finally sharing some of what has been cooking in my underground lair for a long time.I wish you all a great and prosperous 2014, that your own plans and dreams can take flight!Stay in touch here at jamesdurham.com and subscribe for updates – this is the first place to find out what's coming this year!Warmest regards,James Durham
