Scripture is NOT The Word | 013

In this episode, Sam explains how Christians have been misled by the synonymous use of the terms Scripture and “Word,” which has resulted in great misunderstanding, mishandling, and misuse of the Bible. In John 5:39 Jesus rebuked the religious people of His time for this same approach to the Bible saying “you search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these (Scriptures) that testify about Me, and you are unwilling to come to Me that you may have life.” The Word, or Logos in Greek, is God Himself in the person of Jesus, not the black and white letters of the Bible. Approaching the Scriptures with this understanding will shift you from using the Bible for more knowledge to using it as a doorway and access point to hearing His voice, the Voice of the living and operative Word of God. _____________________________ Welcome to THE CHURCH IS BROKEN podcast.
