Our guest for this episodes name is Lawrence Gwyn, he has been an educator for over 30 years. He comes from a line of educators and with a father who was a counselor, math teacher and minister. His mother was also his first teacher at home like most of us. His desire to walk in his father's footsteps had to do with the impact that he had on the lives of young people. As a child he said, I had the fortune of meeting some of the young people he touched as I traveled around Savannah Georgia with my father. He would often see former students and they would run up to him and tell them how much he had done for them and I wanted to have that type of impact. This propelled me into a pursuit to merge my love of the written word and teaching. This preparation would result in a bachelors degree in English from Mercer university, a master of education in in the field of English education from Georgia Southern University, and an educational specialist degree from the University of Iowa in curriculum and supervision. I began my teaching career in 1989 in Savannah Georgia, teaching middle school. That would lead to a career in teaching of over 20 years spanning fifth through 12th grade. I also saw an opportunity to advance and became an assistant principal and was able to see the needs of teachers and students from a different perspective. I currently have labored in the field administration for the last 15 years. He is the man for this topic and he did not disappoint in any way.
