Job’s main complaint against God is not His control, or His care—His main complaint is if God is truly aware of what Job is going through. Over and over again, Job makes his case before God. Job pours out his heart to God, wanting assurance that God really knows what is happening in his life. And what we find as Job does this is something that should bring us comfort when we’re hurting—that God is a Father who knows what we’re going through, who knows what we’re facing, and who has never left us in it all. Job realizes this in this final chapter as he says to God in 42:3 (NLT), “You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me.” And that word ‘wonderful,’ it’s a word that you don’t expect to be used in the middle of such pain and suffering. But when Job realizes what God knows is when he truly sees God. Speaker: Kyle Idleman
