Shane Burley, author of "Fascism Today: What It Is and How To End It," goes over the troubling history of the pseudoscientific research surrounding race. He details the attempts by certain academics, primarily in the 1960's and 70's, to scientifically prove the existence of distinct racial categories, and that white people, as a so-called racial category, are generally superior to other races (people of color). These claims have been widely disproven by scientists and academics for years, but still manage to find life within online white nationalist sub-cultures, a prime example being the Alt-Right.
