Silencing The Voice Of Accusation

Listen Later

Episode 18: Silencing the Voice of Accusation

Series: Week 4 – Penal Substitution (Assurance)

In this episode of The Encouraging Word, Pastor Eric explores how the cross silences the voice of accusation. Many believers carry an internal sense of guilt that feels constant and unrelenting — a voice that reminds them of failure, shame, and unworthiness.

But the cross answers that voice.

Through Christ’s sacrifice, the legal claim against us has been answered. The accusation has been heard, judged, and resolved. What once condemned us no longer has authority to define us.

The work of Christ does not merely comfort the guilty — it removes the basis of accusation itself. Because Christ has borne what stood against us, the voice that condemns no longer speaks the final word.

 Scripture:

Romans 8:33-34

 Series Focus:

Penal Substitution addresses not only guilt, but accusation — removing the charge that stood against humanity through Christ’s completed work.

 Music:

Bumper music: “Mercy Flows” (original instrumental composition, 2006)

 Encouraging Word for Today:

The voice that accuses you has already been answered by the cross.

 Reflection Prompt:

What accusations do you still carry that Christ has already answered?
