When we first connected with part-time van traveler Maggie Lam, it was about a post she had written and we reshared on social media. And it was about small gestures Maggie has experienced during her travels, why they you might not know that they are in fact microaggressions, and why representation of people of color within the road travel community matters.

Noami is a Black woman and a nomad who has been living in her campervan since 2016. She started Diversify Vanlife in 2019 in response to the lack of representation of BIPOC in the road travel community. In this show, you’ll hear from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and other underrepresented travelers at the many crossroads of the modern nomadic movement.
