Songwriting:  In this episode Joe analyzes the song "Dynamite" written by David Stewart and Jessica Agombar. This is the bands first fully recorded song in English. It was Spotify's biggest opening in 2020 - critics generally gave good reviews classifying it as seemingly light pop music. However, through analysis I have found some truly amazing techniques, (some rarely seen) offering composers ideas and techniques for their own compositions.

Hi everyone, this next work in the series  for guitar and various instruments features a dialogue between 2 Guitars.  In this composition I feature what I believe is the most important compositional technique in all genres of music -  "Repetition and repetition with variation". In addition the use of petal tones and drones , notes sustained or repeated under the middle or above the music. The third technique highlighted is the Ostinato - A phrase motive riff repeated over and over creating an hypnotic force  a foundation on which all else is built - think of Stravinsky, Schoenberg, every heavy metal song -  actually all styles of music.
