Anthony and Ryan make their picks for all four games happening on Saturday which include a lot of huge lines! August 23, 2024 ~ With the news earlier this week that Lions All-Pro Offensive Lineman Penei Sewell left a intersquad scrimmage with a hurt ankle, all Lions fans became nervous. We all got the wonderful news yesterday that Sewell’s injury was just a rolled ankle and will be okay in the long run. Then Anthony dives into the college football schedule. With college football starting this weekend and beginning their longest season in sport history, Anthony goes into what adjustments teams have to make in preparation for a longer season if those teams make the new 12 team playoff.

August 23, 2024 ~ The Detroit Tigers fall to the Chicago Cubs 10-2. With another bullpen day, things did not go according to plan which led to the series loss to the team on the North side of Chicago. The Lions are set to host their final preseason game this Saturday as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Anthony talks about the new and iconic photoshoot of Lions players in Sports Illustrated. Then Anthony and Ryan get into an interesting discussion about which NFL teams do you watch outside of the Lions. With Michigan and MSU players on division rivals (Jayden Reed + Rashan Gary – Packers, JJ McCarthy – Vikings) do fans of the school’s root for those players or is it all about the Lions?

August 22, 2024 ~ With the 2024 NFL season set to begin in a couple of weeks, Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell gives an update on position battles including the backup quarterback position between Nate Sudfeld and Hendon Hooker. Then Anthony and Ryan dive into the Connor Stallions saga and “why” it shouldn’t be a big deal. Ryan pushes back and says he wants more answers as to why Stallions was on CMU’s sideline last year for the Central Michigan vs Michigan State Football game.

August 22, 2024 ~ News broke at Lions Training camp yesterday that Detroit Lions All-Pro Offensive Lineman Penei Sewell left an intersquad scrimmage with a left foot injury. As injuries start to pile up for the Lions, Anthony states that fans need to enjoy the process more because success for a team is never guaranteed. Tony Paul from the Detroit News joined the show to discuss where the Detroit Tigers are at, how do we evaluate this season and what should fans expect going into the offseason.

August 21, 2024 ~ The LIV Golf numbers are in after Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm had a playoff to end a tournament and the ratings were abysmal. Anthony shares why he believes LIV Golf will never take off and why these golfers may have “buyer’s remorse” when it comes to leaving the PGA Tour for LIV. Then Anthony discuss the recent firings of Sam Ponder and Robert Griffin III at ESPN and then Fredi calls in to discuss the Tigers.

August 21, 2024 ~ College Football is right around the corner. With the first games coming this weekend, Anthony and Ryan dive into The Athletics article on the Big Ten preview. In the article Michigan State is slated at the bottom or near the bottom of the conference. Ryan and Anthony push back a little saying with the new coaching staff and a favorable beginning and end of the schedule, Michigan State should be able to surprise a few people and return to being bowl eligible this season. In the article, The Athletic has Michigan slated 4th in the Big Ten for the upcoming season with Penn State ahead of the reigning National Champions. Anthony and Ryan look at the schedules of both teams and can see why it’s not too crazy to see the Nittany Lions “outperform” the Wolverines this season.

August 21, 2024 ~ The Detroit Tigers fall to the Chicago Cubs 3-1 in the first game of their series in the Windy City. Javy Baez makes his first trip back to Wrigley Field since he has left the Cubs and goes 0-4 with four strikeouts. The Tigers struggled to score runs in what seemed to be a winnable game for Detroit. Anthony dives into Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell’s comments on the injury updates of the team which included a lot of players in the secondary.

August 20, 2024 ~ Golf season is winding down and with an outing coming up, Anthony sees a solution online that will solve the problem of golfers cheating on their scorecard during scrambles. This new solution could put an end to this epidemic. Then Anthony continues his conversation about Name, Image and Likeness and what changes College Athletics need to make in order to survive.
