Australia's ruling Liberal Party will have to learn to live with the divisions that have nearly torn the party apart.

Scott Morrison is promising change as Australia's new Prime Minister but has been forced to keep his rival Peter Dutton and many of the instigators of the leadership coup on his frontbench.

Correspondent Steve Price told Mike Hosking they will most likely face no consequences for their actions.

"A Newspoll out this morning shows the worst result for the coalition for a decade, so it will be very difficult"
