Story Transcript:

En: The afternoon in Retiro Park began peacefully.

En: Lucía, Diego, and María walked together, enjoying the fresh air and tall trees.

Es: El día era soleado y agradable.
En: The day was sunny and pleasant.

En: However, gray clouds appeared in the sky.

Es: —¿Has visto las nubes? —preguntó Lucía a Diego, señalando hacia arriba.
En: "Have you seen the clouds?" Lucía asked Diego, pointing upwards.

Es: Diego asintió, un poco preocupado. —Sí, parece que va a llover.
En: Diego nodded, a bit worried. "Yes, it looks like it's going to rain."

En: María looked at her watch and frowned. "I didn't think the weather would change so quickly."

En: Suddenly, a loud thunder rumbled in the sky.

Es: La lluvia comenzó a caer intensamente.
En: The rain started to fall heavily.

En: The three friends ran under a large tree, seeking shelter.

En: "It's raining a lot!" Lucía shouted, trying to be heard over the noise of the water.

Es: Diego trató de calmarla. —Tranquila, estaremos bien aquí.
En: Diego tried to calm her. "Relax, we'll be fine here."

En: The wind blew strongly, and the sound of the rain was deafening.

En: The shelter under the tree was not enough.

Es: Necesitaban un lugar mejor para protegerse.
En: They needed a better place to protect themselves.

En: They saw a small gazebo not far away.

Es: Decidieron correr hacia él.
En: They decided to run towards it.

Es: Llegaron empapados.
En: They arrived drenched.

En: Diego shook his head, laughing a bit. "Wow, this wasn't in the plans."

En: She looked at Lucía and said seriously, "We need to talk."

Es: Lucía la miró confundida. —¿Ahora? ¿Bajo esta tormenta?
En: Lucía looked at her, confused. "Now? Under this storm?"

Es: —Sí, ahora —insistió María. —No podemos seguir así. Hay tensiones entre nosotros.
En: "Yes, now," María insisted. "We can't go on like this. There are tensions between us."

Es: Diego miró a ambas, incómodo. —¿Tensiones?
En: Diego looked at both of them, uncomfortable. "Tensions?"

"Yes, tensions. Lucía, for a while now I've felt there's something between you and Diego that you're not telling me."

Es: Lucía respiró hondo. —María, Diego y yo somos amigos. Eso es todo.
En: Lucía took a deep breath. "María, Diego and I are friends. That's all."

Es: Diego intervino. —Es verdad, María. No hay nada más. Lo prometo.
En: Diego intervened. "It's true, María. There's nothing more. I promise."

En: María looked down. "Then why do I feel like you're hiding something from me?"

En: Silence took over the place for a moment, only interrupted by the sound of the storm.

Es: Finalmente, Diego habló. —María, tal vez es solo tu imaginación. Todos somos amigos. No hay secretos.
En: Finally, Diego spoke. "María, maybe it's just your imagination. We're all friends. There are no secrets."

"María, we're like family. We don't want you to feel that way. If you have doubts, you can always talk to us."

Es: María suspiró y sonrió un poco.
En: María sighed and smiled a bit.

En: "I'm sorry. I think I got carried away by my thoughts. I want to believe in you."

En: "And you should," Diego said with a smile. "We'll get through this together."

En: The sound of the storm began to decrease.

Es: La lluvia se hizo más ligera.
En: The rain became lighter.

Es: Los truenos ya no se escuchaban.
En: The thunder was no longer heard.

En: Little by little, the sun began to come out again, lighting up their faces.

En: "Well, it seems everything is getting better," Lucía said. "The weather and us."

Es: María asintió. —Sí, me siento mejor. Gracias por escucharme.
En: María nodded. "Yes, I feel better. Thanks for listening to me."

Es: —Siempre, María —dijo Diego, abrazándola.
En: "Always, María," Diego said, hugging her.

En: Lucía joined the hug, and the three friends remained united, closer than ever.

En: Retiro Park shone under the returning sun.

En: The storm had passed, taking the tensions with it.

En: They walked together, with the future clearer and the past resolved.
