The Hour of History Podcast

Success in Teaching and Research with Lillian Guerra (HoH Podcast – Ep, 86)

Listen Later

We have a lot of new podcast listeners so this week is a blast from the past, an Hour of History Rewind. This episode was recorded last year and first published as "A Participatory Past with Lillian Guerra".

I thought it would be great to bring this episode back as Dr. Guerra shares some great information on her approach to teaching, her background, and some of her research -- all still pertinent today, especially if you are about to start teaching a course this Fall!

Dr. Lillian Guerra is currently a history professor at the University of Florida and author of a number of important works including the recent Heroes, Martyrs, and Political Messiahs in Revolutionary Cuba, 1946-1958. She writes frequently and has recently presented a paper on Puerto Rico and Cuba. You can follow her on twitter here.

Read Dr. Guerra's Books:

Visions of Power in Cuba: Revolution, Redemption, and Resistance, 1959-1971 (Envisioning Cuba)
