Special Weather Statement. Fire danger statement in effect from noon Eastern Daylight Time today through this evening. Hot and dry conditions are expected to prevail across southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia today. Relative humidity values are forecast to fall into the 20 to 30 percent range this afternoon, with the lowest values occurring across interior locations along and west of Interstate 95. Winds will become locally breezy as well, with gusts to around 20 mph at times. These factors, combined with the recent prolonged dry weather resulting in dry fuels, will produce an enhanced fire danger risk. Precautionary/preparedness actions. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn. If you do, you are advised to use extreme caution.
