In this podcast, we expand on the previous episode and talk about some of the organisational factors that should be in place to make coaching work. In particular, we will look at the kind of 'system', a coaching style will thrive in. We will borrow Rinses Likert's timeless model of 4 organisational styles to show where coaching fits in. These styles are: 1. An Exploitative Authoritative System 2. A benevolant Authoritative System 3. A Consultative System 4. A Participative System These styles can exist at any level in your organisation. If you are unlucky have to have an exploitative authoritative system (and you know what I mean just be reading the term!), the idea of coaching won't thrive for example.
