The One Big Beautiful Bill Act changed the law for the $4,000 Previously-Owned Clean Vehicle Credit under IRC § 25D, the $7,500 Clean Vehicle Credit under IRC § 30D, and the Qualified Commercial Clean Vehicles Credit under IRC § 45W in that it only made vehicles "acquired" on or before September 30, 2025, eligible for the credit. However, this week, the IRS released guidance regarding this September 30 deadline that is actually helpful for those in a rush to buy a Tesla or other qualifying clean vehicle before the deadline.
