This reflection contrasts outward religion with true spiritual sight, drawing from Isaiah 29’s warning that lips can honor God while hearts drift far away. Yet even in that blindness, God promises renewal — a day when the deaf will hear and the blind will see — a promise Jesus begins to fulfill in John 7 as He offers living water to the humble and thirsty. It’s a reminder that the Spirit restores vision not to the proud, but to those willing to admit their need.
