Today we celebrate Good Shepherd Sunday, and today’s Gospel identifies Jesus as our Good Shepherd, we need to know His voice and follow Him. Fr Simon reminds us that God constantly speaks to us through Scripture, liturgy, hymns and the Eucharist. But more than that, God speaks to us through our encounters with other people and our daily experiences. However, our pride, ego, distractions, anger, and assumptions often stop us from truly listening. Like sheep who trust the shepherd, we are called to recognise Christ’s voice above the noise of life. Listening to God requires openness, humility, and stillness.
Fr Simon challenges us to see that the Eucharist is more than a motion every week. It is God, coming down to us as the body and blood of Christ. Will we allow him to enter into our life? Can we hear his voice today?
- Sunday Homily by Fr. Simon Tan, C.Ss.R. (26 April 2026)
