Es: El sol brillaba en el cielo azul del Parque del Retiro, en Madrid.
En: The sun was shining in the blue sky of Retiro Park in Madrid.

Es: Carlos, María y José decidieron alquilar un bote.
En: Carlos, María, and José decided to rent a boat.

Es: Querían disfrutar del día soleado en el lago.
En: They wanted to enjoy the sunny day on the lake.

Es: Carlos tomó un remo.
En: Carlos took one oar.

Es: María agarró el otro.
En: María grabbed the other.

Es: José se sentó en el centro del bote con una gran sonrisa.
En: José sat in the center of the boat with a big smile.

Es: Empezaron a remar despacio, disfrutando del reflejo del cielo en el agua.
En: They started rowing slowly, enjoying the reflection of the sky on the water.

Es: De repente, un pequeño accidente ocurrió.
En: Suddenly, a small accident occurred.

Es: Uno de los remos de Carlos cayó al agua.
En: One of Carlos's oars fell into the water.

Es: Los tres amigos se miraron sorprendidos.
En: The three friends looked at each other in surprise.

Es: —¡Oh, no!
En: —Oh, no!

Es: —Tenemos que recuperarlo —dijo José, preocupado.
En: —We have to get it back —said José, worried.

Es: Carlos intentó alcanzarlo con la mano, pero el remo flotaba lejos.
En: Carlos tried to reach it with his hand, but the oar floated away.

Es: María trató de empujar el bote hacia el remo, pero el viento lo alejaba más.
En: María tried to steer the boat towards the oar, but the wind pushed it farther away.

Es: Mientras tanto, un pato curioso se acercó al remo.
En: Meanwhile, a curious duck approached the oar.

Es: Lo miraba con interés.
En: It looked at it with interest.

Es: Asustado, el pato picoteó el remo y empezó a nadar con él.
En: Startled, the duck pecked at the oar and began to swim with it.

Es: Los amigos se quedaron boquiabiertos.
En: The friends were left open-mouthed.

Es: —¡El pato se lleva nuestro remo!
En: —The duck is taking our oar!

Es: —gritó José, agitando los brazos.
En: —shouted José, waving his arms.

Es: Carlos y María intentaron remar con el único remo que quedaba.
En: Carlos and María tried to row with the only oar left.

Es: El bote giraba en círculos, haciéndoles reír a pesar del problema.
En: The boat spun in circles, making them laugh despite the trouble.

Es: —¡Vamos a remolcarnos detrás del pato!
En: —Let’s hitch a ride behind the duck!

Es: —sugirió María medio en broma.
En: —suggested María, half-joking.

Es: Remaron con todas sus fuerzas, pero no pudieron seguir al pato.

En: —Yes, a duck took our oar —explained Carlos, still surprised.

Es: El señor rio y les ofreció otro remo.
En: The man laughed and offered them another oar.

Es: —No se preocupen, esto pasa bastante aquí en el Retiro.
En: —Don't worry, this happens quite often here in the Retiro.

Es: Carlos, María y José rieron también.
En: Carlos, María, and José laughed as well.

Es: Agradecieron al señor y tomaron el nuevo remo.
En: They thanked the man and took the new oar.

Es: Con ánimo renovado, volvieron al bote.
En: With renewed spirits, they returned to the boat.

Es: Esta vez, remarían con más cuidado.
En: This time, they would row more carefully.

Es: Aprendieron una lección y recordaron siempre el curioso pato del Parque del Retiro.
En: They learned a lesson and would always remember the curious duck of Retiro Park.
