If you're just finding our podcast, this could be one of the songs you scroll down to checkout first (mostly to find out why it wasn't in the "Ds").
The Downeaster Alexa is an extraordinary Billy Joel song from his later catalogue and was released May 5, 1990 from the
Storm Front album. It is the sea shanty Billy had been waiting to make for 11 albums and he did a pretty great job. It's a terrific song and we've got lots to say about it. Especially, that line about "I've got bills to pay and children who need booze". Or maybe we heard it wrong. Tune in to find out.
