In the first episode of our second season we interviewed Dr. Lyn Turkstra, a Professor of Speech-Language Pathology at McMaster University. Dr. Turkstra discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted cognitive rehabilitation, a process of retraining the brain to improve cognitive function after injury or illness. She explores the challenges faced by both healthcare providers and patients during the pandemic and provides us insight to patient demographics and the barriers in our healthcare system which make access to cognitive rehabilitation difficult.
