Online Roundtable “The Future of Urban Working & Living” 17 Nov, hosted by Targa Communications & REFIRE
In recent years, we have seen cultural, social and economic changes in towns and cities across Europe. There has been a growth in the expectations of individuals and businesses for “on-demand” goods and services and the real estate markets have not been immune from this cultural shift.
Brands like Airbnb and WeWork and operators of student accommodation, apart-hotels and flex-workspace, along with providers of pop-up shop spaces and self-storage solutions, are all looking to benefit by providing users with shorter-term, flexible and agile property concepts that can be utilised by individuals, businesses and entrepreneurs on an “as and when” basis.
While such “short-term” real estate solutions can be a popular asset for investors, the Covid-19 pandemic has shown that the segment is not immune to external influences. Is this a passing trend or is this the future of urban working and living?
So, what are the prospects for short-term property solutions for occupiers in Germany and further afield? As the market recovers from the pandemic, what are the opportunities for property investment?
