The GOP Field Is Expanding Again

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis kicked off his 2024 presidential campaign on Tuesday with his first public appearance in Iowa, hoping to persuade Republicans to favor him over former President Trump. The field is expected to grow bigger, as reports suggest both former Vice President Pence and former Governor Chris Christie will enter the primary race as early as next week. On the Democratic side, a recent poll found President Biden’s support lacking, with his primary challengers, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marianne Williamson, polling at 16 percent and 8 percent, respectively.
