Publisher's Summary:
Anyone can approach an organization; not everyone can get in. The first step in business-to-business sales is getting in the door. It doesn't matter if you have the greatest product or the most dynamic presentation if you can't get in front of the decision maker. That decision maker is often highly guarded by a savvy gatekeeper who screens out sales calls--leaving even talented, experienced salespeople frustrated by their inability to get access to the right people. The experience of selling to a business isn't limited to salespeople. At some point, many people find the need to approach an organization, whether it is selling an idea or service, for fundraising needs, or even just selling personal credentials in an interview or audition. Success in these "sales" approaches comes through impressing key decision makers. Unlike many sales books and trainings that focus on what to do once you have an appointment to sell, The Key to the Gate addresses how to get the initial appointment and offers proven methods for getting through to the decision makers. Influence isn't always where you expect, and The Key to the Gate presents specific principles and techniques that can work wonders in getting you the appointment.

Examples stay with you...not just for business
I was actually fortunate enough to read an advance copy of this book and am so glad I did because the ideas have stayed with me for months--and helped me negotiate a local exception to a long standing school board policy on behalf of my daughter. I've been watching for the printed version because I'm eager to have several friends and family members read this book. So glad this is available now!
It's an easy read...just and hour or two, but it will save you hours of headaches if you can apply the strategies. The tone is conversational, not condescending or complicated, like you're sitting down with an old sales pro who's actually likable and ethical. I especially like the chapter on "Jijitsu email." This would be a fabulous gift for employees or friends in any sales related business.
Terrific ideas and information in a compact format
I have been in commercial real estate sales and leasing for over 15 years. I am always looking to find new ideas and reminders to improve what I do for my company and clients. I had the opportunity to meet the author of this book, and was very impressed. After that meeting I decided to purchase his book on Amazon. I found that there was a surprising amount of good information, packed into a relatively small book. The author presents numerous helpful ideas that if used will give you the opportunity to get in front of more prospects, make more sales, and will equate to making more money. I especially liked how the author uses examples to back up the ideas he was presenting. I was glad to have had the opportunity to read this book, and look forward to using the authors ideas and suggestions.
Grounded
Anderson's book gives the key insights and stays on point. Usually these books sell the author; not here. Deeply appreciated.
Good book. Right length for a quick read
Good book. Right length for a quick read. Filled with techniques to get in front of prospects honorably. I wish I had this book 10 years ago. Better late than never I suppose. ( Also right price on Kindle. Thanks EksAyn and Amazon)
