The Jake Feinberg Show

The Larry Fabian Interview

Listen Later

My guest today is a prolific lawyer in NYC, he also went to Camp Scatico at a time in our society when litigation was almost non existent. For better or for worse the nuclear family was in tact and the stress that comes with dividing up assets and property values, and long term care had not yet reached our everyday vernacular.
The problem with love is it's other face and there were no participation awards being handed out and your bank account did not need to exceed six figures in order for your child to have a life changing experience.
His generation of Scatico bathed in a sea of opportunity. A generation whose parents had done the heavy lifting following Pearl Harbor and WWII. This buoyancy pervaded my guests outlook on life. He made the Scatico Honors Society in his first year, 1956. And while we will burrow deeper into his stories career today the kin I am most familiar with are his two sons, Andrew and Daniel.
I haven't seen them in awhile but the more things change the more they remain the same. Both of his kids were leaders, neither were perfect but they were authentic. You wouldn't find them in the Palace during rest hour, you'd find them playing counselor softball or waxing poetic with Dan Alcheck about some well laid plan to get over to girls side. His sons were my peers who rode the crest of the wave that was green and grey. One that took them from Scatico into "Ithaca is Gorges" to the greener pastures of commerce, law and "the ultimate challenge platform."
My guest is still extremely productive. Today he could be golfing or at the beach but he chose to spend some time with this host to help channel the river of time known as Camp Scatico.
Larry Fabian welcome to the JFS
