#198 The Matter with Things (with Iain McGilchrist)

This week I spoke to one of my favourite guests on Under the Skin - Iain McGilchrist. Iain is an author, psychiatrist and former Oxford literary scholar. He came to prominence with his publication "The Master and His Emissary - The Divided Brain and the Making of the Western World”. His latest book is called “The Matter With Things.”

This is a fantastic podcast that discusses Iain’s work, the differences between the left and the right hemispheres, but also much more than that. We delve into some deep philosophical discussions about how we perceive and understand reality, God and the mystical; how being a spiritual person really is “no picnic;” and we speak about therapy, psychiatry, and the challenges we face when trying to help one another. It’s a wonderful conversation, and we will definitely be having Iain back again!
