Story Transcript:

En: Under the sky of Madrid stood the grand marble building with high and wide windows through which light poured generously. In number fourteen on Sol Street, the home of the González Abril family, there was great commotion. What was a peaceful Saturday had turned into an ocean of boiling voices, calls, and laughter. It was a special day, a day of family gathering.

En: María, the youngest of the González Abril family, felt agitated, a bit desperate. Living normally in the calm of her small room, she was now a witness to a furious roar of conversations. Beside her, her brother José, with constant attempts to calm the chaos, only managed to immerse himself even more in the noise.

En: Everyone talked, and no one listened. The anthem of Madrid playing on the living room television, laughter cascading from the dining room where the grandmother recalled old anecdotes, phones ringing, children running... as much activity as in Retiro Park on a summer afternoon. It seemed like an overcrowded speeding train where everyone moved non-stop.

En: The two sisters, Beatriz and Cristina, shouted about serene secrets of forgotten recipes. They energetically argued whether the potato omelette should be made with or without onions. Meanwhile, the patriarch, Don Luis, unsuccessfully tried to recount his latest outing to Atleti's field to a desperate audience.

En: Amidst the chaos, María and José looked at each other worriedly. How could they calm that storm of sounds to be able to enjoy the family gathering? José had an idea. He ran to the music room and grabbed his beloved guitar, the same one he had learned to play as a child.

En: José started playing an old family song, "The Waltz of Oblivion," a soft and warm melody that always accompanied the family on celebratory days. At first, the guitar strings seemed to get lost in the choppy waters of the sea of voices.

En: But María, recognizing the song, began to sing. Her sweet and clear voice rose in the air, growing and swirling, enveloping the scattered conversations in a silent embrace. Gradually, the resilient song broke through the cacophony, and every head turned towards the source of the sound.

En: Like a spell, the chaos transformed into calm. Conversations quieted down, children paused their play, and all eyes turned to José and María. The song floated in a melodic tone, coloring the air with hues of nostalgia and love.

En: When the song reached its end, the silence remained. Everyone in the room took a moment to appreciate the quiet, to listen again. Then, one by one, they began to applaud. The smiles on the faces of María and José were so wide that they could have lit up the night in Madrid.

En: The family gathering continued, but this time, everyone took a moment to listen before speaking. And thus, despite the initial chaos, the gathering became a success. The house on Sol Street shone once again, and thus concluded another chapter in the life of the González Abril family. The stillness arrived at nightfall, like the satisfaction of a job well done, leaving behind laughter and shared memories.
