Lukas Carey has worked in the field of education for most of his career as a teacher, trainer, coach, educator and lived experience academic. While working in local government in regional Victoria, he was charged with and convicted of receiving secret commissions and served a period of time in prison.
We discuss what he learned about himself in prison, why he dedicates his life to advocating for others who are or have been incarcerated, and discuss the importance of 'owning your shit' in order to take control of your own narrative in life.
Lukas and I also share time talking about our children - before we're interrupted by my daughter towards the end of the episode!

In this episode, I talk to Paul Glezer and Daniel Norich from HERO, who are true change-makers in the world of health and wellness.
HERO is not just another online exercise and weight loss program. They offer a real-time, one-on-one, personalised support program. It’s all about keeping you accountable and making sure you reach your goals.
HERO is changing men's health and wellbeing, and I know this from my very own experience as a father who participated in their program in 2020.
We talk about diet and exercise, goal-setting, the importance of sleep, routines, the intersection of physical and mental health, and the power of community.

Welcome to the MenTalk Podcast!
Today I'll be discussing the 'why' of this podcast, as well as my own personal journey. I'll also share what you can expect moving forward.
The last ten years have led me to this moment - and now it's time to talk.
A huge thank you to everyone's support - though we don't know what will come from this, if it helps start a conversation, assist someone in any way, change someone's thinking, or even just to take a bit of time and listen to the stories of others... then we have succeeded.
I sincerely hope you all can take something away from this, and I'm looking forward to sharing this experience with you!
