"Third time's a charm" is the aptest phrase that can be used for Marvel's latest entry into its cinematic universe, Thor: Ragnarok. Returning once again to lead this voyage is Chris Hemsworth, who of the top three characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has had the roughest go at it in his solo adventures. However, with Taika Watiti in the director's chair, Thor: Ragnarok is not only the best Thor films but one of the best Marvel projects to date. The movie warns of a coming event, Ragnarok, or the end of all things for Asgard (the home realm of our hero). A series of events leads Thor to reunite with his mischievous brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to find their father Odin (Anthony Hopkins). Odin warns them of a coming danger, Hela (Cate Blanchett) whose past is as mysterious as it is violent. She casts our heroes out of their homeworld and they are forced onto an unfamiliar planet that focuses on gladiatorial sports for entertainment above all else. There Thor rekindles his friendship with The Hulk/Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and meets new allies Valkeryie (Tessa Thompson) and Korg (voiced by Taika Watiti). Together they work to escape their captors and take on Hela and reclaim Asgard. Budget: $180 Million

In 1922, a farmer conspires to murder his wife for financial gain, convincing his teenage son to participate. The film is based on the novella by horror writer, Stephen King. Wilfred James (Thomas Jane) is a grumpy farmer who refuses to give up his life living on the farm with his wife, Arlette (Molly Parker), and son, Henry (Dylan Schmid). His wife proposes that they sell their land and move into the city for a better, and frankly, less harsh life. However, Wilfred thinks city living is for "fools" and works his son to hatch a plot to kill Arlette to preserve his way of living. He succeeds in his plans but is haunted by the memories of his murdered wife via rats and visions of her. This is a Netflix Original film and is currently streaming on that service. The Babysitter is a 2017 American teen horror-comedy film directed by McG and written by Brian Duffield. The film stars Samara Weaving, Judah Lewis, Hana Mae Lee, Robbie Amell and Bella Thorne. It was released by Netflix on October 13, 2017. 12-year-old Cole (Judah Lewis) is the classic kid who suffers from bullying in school, but his one solace is his beautiful babysitter that he has fallen head over heels for. When she stays at home with him one night he decides to spy on her and see what she is up to after he is supposedly asleep. Turns out, this dreamy perfect girl, Bee (Samara Weaving), is a part of a demonic cult!!! He sees her and her friends murder another kid without remorse. That's when this horror/comedy, The Babysitter, really gets started. Cole is thrown into a race against time to escape the members of this cult and hopefully survive until his parents are back in town. Jay and Terrence sit down to discuss the newly released crime thriller, The Snowman. Based on the novel written by Jo Nesbø, the film follows a drunkard detective named Harry Hole (Michael Fassbender) as he tries to figure out why women are ending up dead in Oslo, Norway by someone who goes by the name the Snowman killer. Leaving small clues and snowmen in the wake of his murders, Hole races to put the pieces together to find the killer. Working with the gorgeous backdrop of Norway, the film tries desperately to convey a sense of Scandinavian emptiness in the same vein of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series. However, due to rush production and poor translation of the source material, it seems to fail in every regard.

The film chronicles a little-known case of Thurgood Marshall (Boseman) in which he is tasked to prove the innocence of Joseph Spell (Brown) who is accused of attacking and raping a white woman he works for during the height of the Civil Rights movement. Marshall is forced to join up with local Jewish attorney Sam Friedman (Gad) to prove that this case is far more complex than anyone truly believes. The film is directed by Reginald Hudlin, and takes a sharp look at not only the era in question but one of its greatest heroes from a perspective not yet explored.   Cast: Chadwick Boseman Josh Gad Sterling K. Quan runs head first into the Liam Hennessy (Brosnan) who is a British official who has deeper ties to the situation than is first realized. Cast:
