Join us for Cn Tim Clayton's sermon, The Nicene Creed and A Response to Ongoing Situations in the ACNA.
Join us for Tim's caring and personal response and a beautiful insight to the Nicene Creed.
In light of the ongoing serious issues within the leadership of the Anglican Church in North America, at some point the ACNA needs to acknowledge that we have a culture problem in significant leadership roles within the ACNA. Why can't we do the biblical thing and lament? Can we imagine what might change if we had National Days of Lament over this?
We also have to acknowledge that sorting out situations like this is very difficult.
What can we do when we've been harmed by the church or more specifically by the Senior Leadership within the church? When the church has deeply and personally disappointed you? How do we find a way forward when the situation seems devastating and deeply disappointing?
One way is through lamenting together, one way is through calling on leadership to be accountable, another way is through a practice that's gone on for centuries within the church worldwide, The Nicene Creed.
This year marks the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed.
The Creed happens because the early church leaders wanted to center people in the core of God's narrative love story in Christ Jesus..
