The Philosophy of Space

Listen Later

The "Early Modern" period of philosophy is one of the most interesting periods in all of the history of philosophy. In this Episode, we discuss the evolution of the concept of space from 1640 to 1790, listening in as these philosophers - Descartes, Locke, Leibniz, Hume, and Kant - critique and develop philosophical theories of space. Albert Einstein himself praised Immanuel Kant for the "Kantian Copernican Revolution" that opened the door for quantum thinking.
