We start learning German together. In this podcast episode you will learn how to learn German in the next four weeks.
First of all, get your "anchor drink" - for me it's black coffee. From now on, drink your anchor drink whenever you learn German. This will link the German language to this drink.
Next, take up an upright posture to learn and arouse your curiosity for the German language. Now set the timer on your cell phone to 20 minutes, because you will always learn in blocks of 20 minutes.
Now take your course documents and go back to the German vocabulary. Grab a highlighter and mark all German words that you immediately understand because of your knowledge of English. These will be terms like "restaurant", "hotel", "taxi", "information", "reception", "to present", "active", "activate", etc.
You will find at least 200 words in the vocabulary in a normal German beginner course that you can understand straight away. With these words you will form the first sentences. This is the first step.
The second step is to read the first lesson of your German course. First listen to the audio file for the first lesson, then read the text aloud yourself and mark all the words that you understand or think you understand. Then go to lesson two and repeat this procedure. Ignore any exercises or grammar information and work through lesson by lesson until the end of the German course.
If you are a bit hardworking, it will take you about two days to complete the German course in this way.
Now in the third step you choose the forms of the verbs "sein" and "haben" in the present and past tense and form sentences using the already known vocabulary from the vocabulary.
If you want to learn German really quickly, listen to the German audio files in the background all day long, e.g. in the bathroom in the morning, while eating, working in the office or doing housework and at night while sleeping.
In the next video you will learn how to form complex sentences.
