Good book

This is a fast paced spooky tale of innocent teen pranks gone terribly wrong ...

Jordan had a crush on Charlie, but it was difficult to get anyone's attention when "they'd never said more than a few words to each other." Jordan thought he was interested in Briony McCormick. After all, she was one of those perfect girls that the guys all seemed to fall for. Besides, Jordan was a lowly junior and both of them were seniors. It looked like she'd never be able to go a dance with anyone at Bridgewater High ... like ever. At least she had her best friend, Kit. They'd been friends since the fourth grade and if there were any parties coming up, at least she could drag her along. Oddly enough when Jordan spotted Briony coming out of the bathroom, she smiled and complimented her sweater. Heck, she didn't even think perfect Briony even knew her name, but she was nonetheless a bit flattered. Maybe a lot flattered.

The "Bridgewater Live" talent show was one of those events that Kit wouldn't want to bother with so Jordan found a spot in the bleachers to watch. When it came time to announce the homecoming king and queen there was no doubt Charlie and Briony would be nominated. Just as he offered his arm to her, she was pummeled with a water balloon, a balloon with rival St. Philomena's colors. That school wouldn't see the last of Briony McCormack because she was going to exact her revenge for that stunt. Jordan would be seeing a bit more of her too because oddly enough, Briony invited her to the Chowder Hut to meet with a few of her other friends, including Charlie. What did she want from Jordan, someone she didn't even really know?

When Jordan showed up at the Chowder Hut, Briony gave her a sparkling welcome. Kevin, Leslie, Carlos, Thomas, and Charlie were all clustered around the table when Briony, said "We're plotting our revenge against St. Philomena's." Jordan was a little hesitant when she heard about the plan, but when Briony asked if they could borrow her bicycle she agreed. No way was she going over to St. Philomena's. The whole thing seemed like a dream when the next day Principal Weston announced that "Carlos Perez fell of the roof of St. Philomena's last night. He is currently hospitalized and in a comatose state." AND they were looking for the owner of a red bicycle. What possibly could have happened to him? Everyone was talking about some strange wailing sound before he went over the side of the building, but where did it come from?

Each prank seems to draw out some evil force that causes a horrid accident that is accompanied by the wailing of a young girl.
