Isaiah 9:1-7; 11:1-16

Overview

1. The Promise – A second exodus rescue from slavery (9:1-2; 11:11-16)
• Darkness to light (9:1-2)
• Exile to return (11:11-16)
2. The Goal – A full reversal of the fall in a renewed creation (9:3-5; 11:6-9)
3. The Means – A great King who will fulfil the Davidic Covenant (9:6-7; 11:1-5)

Conclusion

• The thrust of the promises relate to life then, not life now.
• What Jesus will achieve for us – a renewed creation.
• It has to be a work of God, not man.
