In order for the reformation to become real, it had to become realized in local church congregations and communities that were so embedded in the culture. In today’s time, a movement can grow and be adopted through social media. But during the Reformation, there was no Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or Instagram.

Instead, there was one man that made the engine of the cultural revolution of the Reformation work: Lucas Cranach.
