By The Soccer Thread Podcast
Recapping the week in soccer from an American perspective.
A couple days late, but here's a Q4 pod. And into our... 9th calendar year of podcasting? We're washed.
What's up with the USWNT? Thank you more, Cliff.
A really bite sized Messi analysis for you after we spend the bulk of this rare podcast on the USMNT and BJ Callaghan's skittles vodka.
We're here! We don't really have a run order, but we manage to talk about soccer for a while anyway. And also about ham.
Club names draft, catching up on emails.
Zidane: hard pass
It was foretold
We're coping with the USA's departure from the World Cup the only way we know how, by working through it together.
USA 1-0 Iran: recap, player ratings, and a bit of looking forward to the Netherlands.
A recap of the USA-England game, and a review of the volatile player stock markets. Is Gregg's stock the most up??
Fresh off the draw that felt like a loss, we give our quick take reactions of the game and where it leaves us for the rest of the group stage.
We had to do it.
Still wish that Busio and Pepi were on the plane though. Ready to be disappointed.
Looking forward to hating this World Cup even more than usual.
It's been too long, but we're back. We talk about the state of MLS, NWSL, UCL, and EPL, plus a prolonged discussion inspired by Edgar Allan Poe.
Dan and Colin get out the Zamboni to give us a fresh slab of mailbag ice, please send your weird pickle content to [email protected]
A podcast mostly about small towns in Wisconsin, a little about pickles, and just a touch about soccer.
Mike has an announcement, Palmer leads a warmup, Colin doesn't understand the Pep hate, Dan wants to talk about Forest's lack of kit sponsorship.
Well, two of us are back. But we're all ok. The pod is not dead. Palmer and Dan talk about Premier League, mostly.
IT'S BACK! Another episode of soccer trivia with Yogesh Raut of Recreational Thinking. Special thanks to Palmer for editing this behemoth, and Yogesh for all the research and writing. Enjoy!
Obviously we are talking U20 CONCACAF Championship, because its the only trophy that matters.
We talk about red cards, rioja, and how much more we like the Minnesota Aurora than Minnesota United.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some edit podcasts.
A wild final week in the Premier League delivers high drama, if not exactly the results we wanted. Colin and Dan give their thoughts.
The Esquire Berge joins to talk all things MN Aurora, who kick off their inaugural campaign in the coming weeks. GET ON BOARD!
Like a conspiracy of lemurs, a posse of turkeys, or a troop of kangaroos, this week we have a veritable ambush of podcasters.
How good is your knowledge of random MLS dudes? Also managers of the current generation and UCL thoughts.
Dan can't help himself.
This was a fun one even though we missed Palmer. Return of a feature that we haven't had in hundreds of episodes if you are one of the very few people who will make it to the end.
Welcome to the french fry podcast.
Not sure what's in this one, but it's published!
Kind of makes me wish I didn't talk shit about that guy who wanted to edit our pod. But also now I get to write these notes with the knowledge I predicted our lineup exactly correct and also that it...
I finally did this edit real sloppy late night, it pains me that our listeners get no outtakes from the solid 10 minutes we did on distance running.
Tough to find the time to pod this week, but Palmer and Dan cover the basics.
We don't do our homework. We go to class anyway.
We can't get the degenerates to tell us about their Super Bowl bets, so we have to talk about soccer instead. Pulisic wins his first of two World Cups of the year, and yes we care.
I break the ice, we break the ice, Mike becomes the ice.
We basically decide that the qualification effort is still on track, but now hosting Panama in the next window is the big one.
Dan slaps the pod together so he can listen to it on his run. The rest of you can also listen if you like.
Mike regrets predicting a great 2022, we learn a new vocabulary word, people are racist and sexist... just another week in Threadland.
I mean we talk about other stuff, but nothing we are as passionate about as snow removal.
We pod mostly to talk about Mike's mens league goal, but also discuss some transfers and prem.
We mostly blibber blabber about USMNT transfer speculation, but don't worry there's other blibber blubber too.
Just the two of us, we can make a smellcast if we try, just the two of us.... and of course cliiiiiff
Posting this a little delayed, but better late than never. Palmer and Dan wax poetic for hours about a game their team lost.
We missed a week, which just means there are more emails for us to chat shit about. Some gems in there. Happy Hanukkah to everyone.
With the trap game looming, we try to enjoy a fleeting moment of joy.
We’ll update the title once Mike watches the game.
Can't really remember what we talked about on this one, I was gone off that port.
Halloween, life lessons, West Ham finally gets some love, and some tangents.
