In this episode, Sam portrays the feelings of the Pit - anger, blame, guilt and shame - that trace all the way back to the Garden of Eden and the aftermath of Adam and Eve eating from the forbidden tree. The cover-up and hiding began then and continue today in our own lives when we lie and hide, and ultimately remain trapped in the prison of our Pit and pain. The irony is that the church is supposed to be a place of truth where believers walk in the light, yet it is filled with the hypocrisy of people lying and hiding, afraid to step into the light because they know that they will be judged.
