In this episode, we revisit the tragic and puzzling deaths of three Cape Breton teenagers, Kenny Novak (15), David Burrows (17), and Terry Burt (20), who were struck and killed by a freight train in the early morning hours of July 10, 1970, in the remote woods of Maine.
Officially ruled an accident, the case was quickly closed by authorities who concluded the boys had chosen to sleep on the tracks.
We are joined by Ken Jessome, a childhood friend of Kenny and David, who has spent the last several years reigniting interest in the case through a series of articles in his community newspaper. Ken shares his personal memories of the boys, reflects on the strange details surrounding their deaths, and explains why he believes the official story doesn’t add up.
