Publisher's Summary:
God didn't just say to Pharaoh, "Let my people go!" He also said to the Israelites - and he says to us - "Let go of what enslaves you, and follow me to freedom."
The Ultimate Exodus opens our eyes to the things that enslave us, and it sets us on the path of our own exodus. Danielle Strickland revisits the story of the Exodus to see what we can learn from a people who were slaves and who learned from God what it means to be free. We discover as we go that deliverance goes much deeper than our circumstances. God uproots us from the things we have become slaves to, and he takes us on a long walk to the freedom he created us to enjoy.

This book will convict and challenge you
Peppered with fresh thoughtful insights into slavery, oppression and freedom. Danielle often pulls the curtain back a bit to expose ways in which we are the oppressors and also the slaves. My biggest complaint was I wish there were a few more chapters fleshing out the vision of what living in freedom would look like in light of the numerous ways she reveals we are tacitly empowering oppression. I especially appreciated the material about battling of the oppression of greed. Certainly we know and uphold Paul's teaching that the sexually immoral, adulterers, homosexuals, etc will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor 6:9-10), and that is serious and heavy stuff. But at the same time how much time have we given to considering our culpability on another item equally on that vice list? Greed. Is this the Western sacred cow? Does the church even know how to confront, counsel or discipline its members from the slavery of stuff? God help us to become loose-handed Christians.
