Water Stories

The voice of freshwater ecosystems in California

Listen Later

Ecosystems are critical elements of the global water cycle. In this episode, we talk with Marisa Escobar and Doug Chalmers, scientists from the Stockholm Environment Institute. They share with us the importance of freshwater ecosystems in California. We learn about the threats faced by aquatic species, especially salmon, from climate change. We also discuss allocating water for environmental flows and technology's role in understanding trade-offs and opportunities involved in different water management options. For more information, visit: www.sei.org
