The Young IPA Podcast

The Young IPA Podcast – Episode 36 with Janet Albrechtsen & Renee Gorman

Listen Later

This week James and Pete talk about two new IPA reports, the controversy surrounding the IPA-sponsored event at the University of Sydney which is making headlines across Australia and the 100-year anniversary of the start of the Russian Revolution. We talk to IPA Director and The Australian columnist Janet Albrechstsen about her upcoming profile of Milo Yiannopoulos, the IPA event and what is says about the state of open debate in academia and the still ongoing citizenship scandal (14:05-30:48). We also talk to IPA Campus Coordinator and the host of the Coal Is Cool event about her battle with the University of Sydney and the media she has done about the story (30:59-39:00). At the end, we discuss why you can’t talk about victims of communism, the greatest editorial correction of all time, the pay you can’t show at colleges, what was on Osama bin Laden’s hard-drive and the one ‘tyranny’ that Katy Perry is actually OK with.
