Episode 435: Rob Van Dam REMIX

On this episode of Something To Wrestle, Bruce and Conrad celebrate the 20th anniversary of Backlash 2004 with a dive into the archives. The Rock, Stone Cold, Goldberg, and Brock Lesnar are all out of the company. Now McMahon is going to try establish Chris Benoit as his top star on RAW. Chris received a hero's welcome from Edmonton when he returned as Champion in a WrestleMania rematch. But why was it a rematch? When the venue was booked, did the WWE know Benoit would be the champ? Fresh off of a 2019 Superstar Shakeup, Bruce breaks down the WWE's mentality and the thought process behind a "Draft" and the real life ramifications on the lives affected by switching brands. Randy Orton and Mick Foley's feud, match, aftermath, and future are also greatly explored on this episode. Austin's deal with the company, his reason for leaving, Brock's pursuit of the NFL, and Goldberg's opinion about WWE are all discussed plus Rosey, Garrison Cade, and a few other names rarely discussed get the Prichard treatment as well.
